There
are three common specifications for table cloth:
a)
100% cotton 42/2x42/2 103x95
The properties for a) is fine in yarn count,
high in density and tight in construction resulting in a smooth, silky
feeling but this specification is of a high cost.
b) 100% cotton 32/2x32/2 90x60
The properties for b) is thicker in yarn count,
heavy in weight and absorbent.
c) 100%polyester
The properties for c) is strong enough to
endure heavy wash. The color fastness for dyed polyester table cloth
is better. However, this material is not as absorbent as cotton and
it is flame retardant.
We
understand that hotels need their table cloths to be pleasant looking
and absorbent in case of spills. Therefore, the most popular option
is b) although the color fastness of dyed cotton table cloth is not
very good. This can be improved with imported dyes and adopting a
more sophisticated dyeing techniques, the cost, however, would increase
tremendously.
